It is still quite a phenomenon that some people will travel half way across the world for something and others will not travel five minutes away from home to get there. This Christmas party was one of those occasions. The turn out was very pleasing and members travelled to Forrestfield from as near as Armadale & Kelmscott and as far away as Clarkson, Stratton, City Beach, Mellville, Bakers Hill & Wagin and all points in between, to help us celebrate the end of a very successful year. With forty or so members as company, a very pleasant venue and weather which allowed us to cook our food on the barbie without feeling as though we were cooking ourselves, this was one of the most enjoyable end-of-year functions we have shared together. During the festivities the question was eventually asked "aren't we meant to be having a meeting?" So after "oops, we almost forgot" and with much laughter and leg pulling, we had one of our most disjointed meetings yet - all recorded on the lovely cardboard video camera presented to the President by our ever delightful Isabel. Four or five hours can pass very quickly when you are enjoying yourself and all too soon it was time to leave for those who lived so far away. Sadly, after most members had left, Chris remembered the fireworks and those of us who were left had to enjoy them by ourselves. Our special thanks to all who attended - not only for making the effort, but for all the lovely salads & sweets which came with them and once again, a huge thank you to our hosts for the day, Shona & Chris, for making everyone feel so welcome.
