Swine Flu

Swine Flue is 100% transferrable from humans to ferrets and from ferrets to humans. The best recommendation if your family contracts swine flu is to get your ferrets moved to another household (someone who has no ferrets preferably). You should wear gloves and a face mask when handling the ferrets and handle them as little as possible.
If your ferret shows any signs of having problems breathing then please contact a vet (it is recommended that you use Cottesloe Vet Hospital). It is probably also better to ring the vet before you go there so they can take precautions.
