Hide and Seek Chasey

When all the girls are out my partner starts the game by tagging one first then running, they then chase him. He then hides and they scope him out. Tag him with a little nip and the game starts again. It usually finishes when either dad or the ferrets lay flat on the ground with a "i give up look on their face."

Fierce beast in the tall grass

Ferrets love hair. If yours is long dangle it above them, if it's short let them dive into it from your shoulder. They will bounce, twist, dig, wiggle, and ambush other ferrets passing by, then dart back to the safety of what they see as tall grasses where they are king of the jungle and stand 6 feet tall. Ferrets have great imaginations, don't underestimate them.

Plastic shopping bags are great fun for ferrets and their owners. Just get a bag and russle it and your babies will come running. Once your ferret is inside move you fingers up and down on the outside of the bag and they will try and catch you, the more ferrets involved the crazier it gets as it quickly becomes a game for everyone

In the afternoon when the sun is at it's warmest I clean out all the water dishes around the yard and in their shed. There is one big dish about 4 or 5 inches deep and placed in a sandy spot because they love to dig in wet sand and while i fill that dish i let it overflow into big puddles and they wade through it almost completely covered in water. They love it. Then when they tire of that which usually is never,(or immediately, lol) i squirt the hose in figure eights around the lawn and some of them chase the stream of water.

Grab a fuzzie and jump into a big bed. Put the fuzzie underneath the top quilt, a blanket and sheet is a good thickness to keep between you and your fuzzie then start moving your feet around the bed. I call it toe chasey, you don't ever want them to win though so move quickly. The faster you move the more fun they have. They like having the weight of material on their backs while they romp too.

A friend down my way has a few little lovlies and one hot summer day I called in to visit his ferrets :} This friend had an above ground swimming pool (a kiddies pool) he was putting his ferrets one at a time in the pool and it seemed like they were having a great time. They love water that's for sure.

I think this one was mentioned in the last copy of Ferretting Around but for those who missed it, "Lawn-surfing" find the most expensive quilt you have in the linen press, (only because the most expensive would feel nicest on their feeties and as you all know, they are fussy annd particular about their comfort)drag it around the backyard lawn and they will have no end of fun with you. They also like it when you have enough left on the sides to flick over them so they can wrestle and ride while they hide.

Fuzzies and Beean Bags

Our 2 girls love the bean bag, but don't have it full of beans, only about half full, they love for you to throw them in the air into it, gently of course. they also love getting under it and trying to push it around themselves.
