Hi. Ky is four years old and I'm really worried about her. Yesterday I woke and found she has chewed some skin off from under her armpit. (she has been fleed. Could she be having a reaction to the chemicals?) She woke me this morning trying to pull the door of her cage off with her teeth. I let her run around but as it was four in the morning she could not go far. This behaviour she very unusal for her. I tried playing with her and it her longer than usual to get in the mood. Please help and thanks in advance for the advise. |

Generally a ferret will only become depressed if it loses its friend or if you leave it locked in its cage and no longer play with it. It could be any number of things that is causing her to behave like that. Depending on how old she is and if she is desexed it could just be that she is coming into season. If she is pulling the fur out then it could be fleas or mites which the revolution would fix, but may sometimes take a while. Is she loses a lot of fur it could be more serious, adrenals or something like that. Best bet is to go and see the vet if it continues. |
