Immunisation Day Sunday 28th February 2010 11am to 12noon COTTESLOE ANIMAL HOSPITAL 598 STIRLING HIGHWAY, COTTESLOE COST: $10.00 per ferret Please don’t forget to bring your Ferret Vaccination Record if you have one. All funds are kindly donated to WAFFS, and Dr David Neck and his staff donate their valuable time and facilities, so please support the Ferret Society on this day and keep Distemper out of our ferret community. Canine Distemper is a highly contagious and serious disease caused by a virus which attacks the respiratory, gastrointestinal and nervous systems of the animals that it infects. Infection occurs through airborne exposure via an infected animal, but can also be transmitted by shoes, clothing, car tyres etc. Symptoms may vary, but one thing is certain. There is no treatment or cure. This disease is fatal to ferrets. The only thing you can do is prevent this disease by Immunising kits from 12 weeks of age and to immunise your ferret annually. For all those owners of new kits, which have not already been immunised, here is your chance. |
